The Daily
Dazed and confused
At 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 25, two officers responded to a disturbance on the eighth floor of Lander Hall.
Several non-residents, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, were reportedly making excessive amounts of noise in the hallway, disturbing residents.
The officers contacted the people and asked for identification. Two of the three presented Washington state drivers licenses, and the third claimed that he did not have identification. When asked to identify himself verbally, the man responded that he was "Smith" from "Illinois" repeatedly, even after being advised not to lie to the officer. The officer then asked the man what city in Illinois he was from. The man replied, "Bellevue."
The officer noted that "Smith" was intoxicated because he smelled of intoxicants, had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and had to stable himself by leaning against the wall. When asked his age, "Smith" replied that he was 18 years old. The officer then told "Smith" that he was under arrest for a minor in possession/consumption. At that time, "Smith" suddenly had a clear memory and told the officer his real name.
Two of the subjects were given MIP's and escorted from the dormitory.
Up in smoke
At 12:38 a.m. on Nov. 29, two officers responded to a report of a scent, suspiciously like marijuana, coming from a dorm room in Terry Hall.
When the officers approached the room they noted a "smell consistent with that of marijuana," and proceeded to knock on the door. When the resident opened the door the officers noted a rolled up towel stuffed under the doorway. The resident verbally consented to allowing the officers to search her room.
Upon request, the resident voluntarily gave the officers a prescription bottle filled with a "green leafy substance" and rolling papers.
The substance was seized and the resident was given a verbal warning and advised of possible ramifications.
